The nature house is a converted and renovated farmhouse from 1908, built entirely of natural stone/granite. It is located at an altitude of over 400 meters in the mountains "Serre de Arada" in the hamlet of Carvalhais, municipality of Sao Pedro do Sul. The house consists of two connected parts. The part to be rented has two floors. On the ground floor there are two rooms, a double bedroom with double bed and a kind of single room with sitting area. Also a bathroom with toilet, bidet and shower/bathtub. On the second floor there is the entrance, a single and a double bedroom and again a bathroom with toilet-bidet and bath/shower. The spacious and fully-equipped kitchen is shared with the landlord. There is also a spacious and equipped outdoor kitchen with, among other things, a two-burner gas stove and refrigerator, as well as a barbecue and bread oven. The nature house is surrounded by spacious grounds including several terraces for relaxing and a plunge pool for cooling.

The nature house is a godsend and the ideal place for rest seekers, hikers and sports enthusiasts. Seven minutes' walk from the house is the Bio-Parc, a natural park with a natural swimming pool and a variety of places to picnic. In the immediate vicinity there are many walks to be made on reasonably good roads and along small lakes and waterfalls. The landlords have lived there for three years now and walk their dogs every day and are still discovering more hiking opportunities. Experiences of guests are recorded in a guest book and form a nice reference book with tips. Cycling in this area is a challenge for the trained cyclist. If you just want peace and quiet, there are diverse spots to be found in the garden and orchard. Trips to the beautiful, vast beaches of Aveiro are highly recommended. Great is to visit the mountains of the Estrella. At about an hour and a half's drive you will come across towns here where time has stood still in a pleasant way. A somewhat larger city with a variety of art and cultural activities is Viseu, which is a 20/25 minute drive away.
