This nature house is situated in unspoilt authentic countryside about a half hour drive from the North of Faro Airport. You will hear the call of the owl, wild orchids grow as well as all kinds of herbs, lavender and cistus and only the chirr of crickets breaks the silence. On and in the immediate surroundings of the 100 year old estate grow trees like fig, olive, carob, almond, plum, orange and lemon and also cork and holm-oak. There are two apartments available, each measure 40 m² and have a partly covered porch of 15 m².and they are set up for two to four people and consist of a living room with a pull-out settee to sleep, a bedroom, a bathroom and a well equipped kitchenette. Attention was given to privacy, sound insulation, daylight and heating/cooling by an aircon installation. Inside the apartments there is WiFi available. There is a large lake on the property that is fed by spring water which makes it ideally suited for swimming and canoeing. It has a surface area of about 1000 m², is three meters deep and has visibility down to the bottom. Furthermore there is a swimming pool of 8 x 4 meters. There are many areas to relax, read, dine and barbeque.

Nature and surroundings

The immediate surroundings are part of a nature reserve “Fonte da Benemola”. Here one encounters natural springs and mountain caves high above the river after a steep climb. The whole area near Querenca is on top of a large aquifer and there are many springs and also a museum in Querenca dedicated to water. In our area you can walk for hours on many dirt roads and paths without meeting another person. We are a five minutes walk away to the cross country trail of the Via Algarviana, and also 10 minutes drive to Rocha de Pena, well known for rockclimbing.
