Nature and surroundings
In this nature house with a private garden, you can relax and unwind on a bench. Enjoy the peace, the quiet, nature, and the birdsong. It’s located along the Saint Jacques route, also known as the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route. From the garden, you can walk into the forest to join the trail. It’s situated in the heart of a protected national park, where the brown Limousin cows will greet you warmly during your hike or bike ride. Cognac-la-Forêt is 5 km away and features a natural swimming area with a small sandy beach that’s popular with families with children. In Limoges, the city of porcelain—just under a half-hour’s drive away—the zoo is lovely, and the historic district is especially worth visiting. On Saturday mornings, Saint-Junien hosts a lively local market around the church. Saint Laurent sur Gorre is a two-kilometer walk away and features a supermarket, bank, hair salon, bakery, butcher/delicatessen, and a good restaurant. The small town center is also home to the regional tourist office.
