Within a half-hour drive nature is completely different and the landscape changes from hills to rugged mountains. The landlords can reserve a canoe for you at one of the most beautiful spots, even suitable for small children (with swimming certificate). Cahors lies in a meander of the river and is almost completely surrounded by water. The city is best known as the center of the famous AOC Cahors wine and as a tourist attraction. The Cathédrale Saint-Étienne, la Chantrerie, Musée du Vin, now an exhibition space; église Saint-Barthélémy, the Pont Valentré, Museum Henri Martin are worth a visit. The village of Saint-Cirq Lapopie is perched on a cliff 100 meters above the river and is one of the most beautiful places in the Lot. And how about the caves of Padirac: a natural cavity in the ground 75 meters deep and 33 meters in diameter. After a 500-meter descent, you reach an underground river. A spectacular boat ride takes you to a large cave.
