This cute ruralhut was built a couple of hundred years ago and used to serve as a forge. The old forge has been completely renovated while preserving the authentic details. The ruralhut is pleasantly decorated with luxurious home accessories and home décor from the area. The living room, bathroom and kitchen can all be found on the ground floor. The cozy kitchen comes with an induction cooker, fridge and freezer, microwave, washing machine, coffee maker and kettle. There is a beautiful stone tile floor with motif in the living room. It also has a cozy sitting area with a wood burning stove that provides the heating. A delicious meal can be enjoyed at the dining table with two wicker chairs. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, sink and towel radiator. There is a romantic bedroom on the first floor, underneath an authentic beam ceiling with a very comfortable box-spring bed (160 centimeter wide) with down comforters. The ruralhut has a covered outside porch with dining table and seating area, where you can stay up until late in the night even when the weather isn’t as good. Adjacent to the veranda is the well-kept garden with boxwood, trees and flower beds. Everything is extensively available to prepare a delicious dinner, to cover the table, or to watch a DVD (with a large collection of titles).

The Burgundy has a lot to offer. As soon as you step outside you can enjoy a beautiful hiking or cycling tour in the area. By leaving the main roads and getting on the smaller paths you will discover the most beautiful vistas, forests and small villages. Special cycling paths have been laid through the beautiful vineyards. Bikes can be rented in the area (Nolay/Beane). Detailed hiking maps can be found in the house. You can start a hiking trail from the ruralhut! You can also go for a day out to the lakes and forests in the Morvan nature reserve. It is definitely worth visiting one of the historic castles that the Burgundy has so many of. On the route from the cottage to Beaune (25 kilometer) you go by world-famous vineyards and famous wine estates where you can visit a tasting or guided tour. Autun with its beautiful cathedral is only 15 kilometers away from the cottage with many shops, big supermarkets, restaurants and a market. There are many food establishments in the vicinity; from simple to multiple Michelin stars. The nearest supermarket is three kilometers away. Chalon sur Saone is a beautiful town and is a 45-minute drive away, it is also called “little Paris”. You can visit the second-hand markets throughout the region on Sundays. There are also week markets with fruit and vegetables in both Autun and Beaune. (The Beaune market is highly recommended!)
