This delightful ruralhut is situated in a quiet area on top of the “Keutenberg” in the Gerendal nature reserve. Opposite the house leads a path through the slope to the “Geul”. From the house you can walk beautifully. Behind and next to the cottage lies the natural garden that overflows in pastures and hills. From the large room you have a view over the garden and the hills behind the garden. In the large room is a wood burning stove. The large room extends in a dining area, the open kitchen and in a smaller room with a fireplace. Furthermore, there are two gas boilers below. The house is a real family home that is suitable for families with children, but it is also a place where one or two people can feel at home. There is one shower and one bath in the same room. The house is not rented to younger groups. In the garden there is a pond where the firepath, water alloys and ordinary salamanders have come spontaneously. It’s not only a nice place to walk, but also to rest, write, paint or simply enjoy the view and the garden.

The ruralhut lies between forests on one side with the “Geul” below the “Keutenberg” and on the other side its meadows, the “plateau of Margraten”. In spring, the orchids and the hose blossom bloom, in spring the forests are white from the bunch of mushrooms, there are key flowers, march violets, salamon stamp, aron's milk, the yellow and purple dew and many more special plants and flowers. In the slope forest opposite to the house is a buzzard colony, there are different types of owls and many different types of birds. In summer, when the plums of the trees fall into the garden, the badger is seen in the garden while tasting the plums. In the woods you can find herds of castles. Roe deer, rabbits, squirrels, hares and other mammals can also be found during your walks across the garden or across the hill. In short: for nature lovers there is plenty to see and experience at the “Keutenberg”. And we haven’t mentioned at the setting sun that you can see from the back of the room and the garden behind the hills, and see you in the morning at the front of the house, all the beautiful stars that you see much more than had many other places in the Netherlands yet. Imagine lying in a deckchair watching the falling stars,  hearing the owl call in the tree, seeing the fireflies in the summer when it's hot weather... What else do you want?! Near the “Keutenberg” you can also visit caves, nearby is a quarry where you can find fossils, horse riding and many hiking trails around the "Keutenberg".
