You can choose a more mountainous region if you are into hiking, opt in for the coastal areas for a quiet summer vacation, or visit a rural area to learn about the local culture and traditions.

Discover the nature of the Old Continent!

One of the greatest places for a camping trip in Europe is Black Forest in Germany. This natural area always makes it to the top of campers’ favorite lists! Among many natural wonders, the Black Forest is a unique place you need to include in your trip itinerary. This beautiful mountain range covered with dense vegetation is located in Southwest Germany, near the famous Baden-Baden. The river Rhine passes to the west and creates a natural border between the mountain range and the country of France.

France is also worth mentioning as Brittany and Auvergne are some of the most visited provinces in the country. Both of them have an exceptional nature and a history of welcoming campers, therefore making it a great camping spot at the heart of Europe. Brittany is great for those looking for an experience of nature and culture combined. The province is very rich in natural wonders, as well as filled with picturesque towns welcoming visitors from all around the world.

Activities

Consider one of many trail routes in Black Forest allowing you to fully experience the area and its beautiful flora. One of the hiking routes will lead you to the Triberg Waterfalls. This waterfall is one of the tallest in Germany – 163m! Take your backpack and enjoy a day in the company of Gutach River travelling through 7 steep steps on its way down from the mountain – a truly spectacular view!

If you are looking for a gastronomic experience, the bay area of Brittany is the place to be! The local cuisine is exceptional, fruits and vegetables are of highest quality as well as being mostly locally grown. The seafood is always fresh, the recipes are once-in-a-lifetime. Auvergne is home to many lakes, swamps and ponds - a result of volcanic activity.
