Slovenia

Slovenia's lakes are very picturesque, and some of them are included in the tourist programs. Most of them are glacial or karst. The largest permanent lake is Bohinskoe, followed by Triglavsky and Bledskoe. In terms of soils, less than 1.5% of Slovenia's area is under crops, although the possibilities for growing crops are much wider. About 60% of the country is covered with dense forests, which is the third largest in Europe after Sweden and Finland. In the higher elevations there are beautiful flowering alpine meadows(conditions there are not suitable for large or less cold-resistant plants).

Slovenia is home to 13 thousand animal species, including 400 endemic ones. Some of them are endangered. In some areas, the ecological situation is not as good as we would like, and the state is trying to remedy the situation, preserving all natural diversity. Approximately 8% of Slovenia's territory is under strict control. In addition, the country has several landscape parks, the Triglav National Park, regional parks, nature reserves, and natural monuments.

Favorable special offers of airlines on the Slovenian route are encountered more often than usual this summer. A small country located in the Balkans, it is famous for its beautiful landscapes, picturesque river valleys, lakes and caves. In winter, athletes are attracted by the mountains of Slovenia. Closer to summer, the last skiers leave the slopes of Triglav, and climbers come to their place. The Slovenian Alpine Route encompasses the most attractive peaks for rock climbers and is therefore extremely attractive for extreme climbers. Those who prefer canoeing, kayaking or rafting on vacation will also find a lot of interesting things in Slovenia! Tourists are attracted to the coast of Slovenia by the prospect of engaging in exciting diving. For an active holiday with elements of chic, sailing on a rented yacht is suitable. Arouse white envy among those who decide to spend time lying on the beach!

The Netherlands

As a highly developed and densely populated country, the Netherlands is very concerned about preserving the environment. Numerous reserves have been created, in which different types of water and wading birds are represented: water ducks, fishermen, seagulls and others. The humid and mild climate almost all year round favors green pastures, which occupy most of the territory. Mainly in the interior of the country, there have been preserved individual green areas of predominantly deciduous trees. Forests are small, only 8% of the country's territory.

Water sports are very popular in the Netherlands as well. After the ice melts from the rivers and canals, the views of the hikers and cycling tourists are incredibly beautiful. No wonder biking and hiking are so popular in Holland! The bicycle has long become one of the national symbols, and in Amsterdam and other large cities it is no longer just a means of transportation, but part of the image. Needless to say, bike lanes and two-wheeled car parks are in excellent condition everywhere, and traffic rules give cyclists priority over motorists. Do not neglect the opportunity to ride roller skates, scooters or skateboards in Dutch cities. Friesland and Zeeland are suitable for windsurfing and sailing enthusiasts, and in the northern town of Groningen in the summer the locals organize competitions in ... walking on the sea mud.

Finland

Almost 2/3 of Finland's territory is covered with forests, which are a source of valuable raw materials for the woodworking and pulp and paper industries. The country has forests of northern and southern taiga, and in the extreme southwest - mixed coniferous-deciduous. Maple, elm, ash and hazelnut trees penetrate to 62°N, the apple tree is located at 64°N. Coniferous trees extend up to 68°N. Forest-tundra and tundra stretch to the north. One third of Finland's territory is occupied by swamps(including swamp forests). Peat is widely used as bedding for livestock and much less frequently as fuel. Reclamation of bogs was carried out in several areas. The fauna of Finland is very poor. Usually, the forests are inhabited by elk, squirrel, rabbit, fox, otter, less often desman. Bear, wolf and lynx are found only in the eastern regions of the country. The world of birds is diverse(up to 250 species, including ungulates, wood grouses, hazelnuts, partridges). Salmon, trout, whitefly, perch, pike, pike, fish and herring are found in the rivers and lakes of the Baltic Sea.

The homeland of Santa Claus is striving hard to shake off the reputation of being an exclusively winter tourist destination. Summer in Finland is not hot, but very interesting! Especially attractive are the lakes where you can enjoy wonderful fishing. The Finnish sauna is just as popular in summer as in winter. Cycling tours in Finland are another type of leisure that fans of outdoor activities choose. Good ecology promotes the development of the hiking industry. Admiring the beauty of the Scandinavian landscapes from the bus window is the last thing! Hiking can be varied by horseback riding.

Climate

Europe is usually characterized by a temperate climate. In Europe, the climate is oceanic, with cool or warm summers and cool winters with frequent clouds. Southern Europe has a characteristic Mediterranean climate characterized by warm or hot, dry summers and cold or mild winters and often sunny skies. Central and Eastern Europe is classified as a continental climate characterized by warm or hot summers and cold winters. Western Europe's climate is largely determined by the Gulf Stream, which maintains mild air(for latitude) over Northwest Europe during the winter months, especially in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the coastal regions of Norway.

Some parts of the plains of Central Europe are characterized by a hybrid oceanic/continental climate. Four seasons take place in most of Europe, away from the Mediterranean. The coastal lowlands of the Mediterranean basin have a fairly wet and dry season, the rainy season lasts from October to February, and the dry season occurs mainly in the summer months, when precipitation can become extremely low in some years.
