B&B Gelderland

This centuries-old system of accommodation by which you stay in someone's house. Remember, in the stories of Russian writers of the 18th-19th centuries, and foreign ones too, guests stayed in private houses, the hostesses whipped feather beds for them, heated water, and in the morning they prepared breakfast? You can take it as a prototype. So many centuries have passed, but nothing has changed. Well, only the interior in the houses and Wi-Fi.

Sometimes abroad, you can even stay in an old residence or in a castle belonging to a certain count/duke/prince/sultan. The owners will tell the history of the building, which is sure to be rich in events. Take a look at our b&b Gelderland offers and enjoy your holiday in the Netherlands!

Sonsbeek Park

As the most famous and visited park in the city, Sonsbeck covers extensive open nature with over 200 hectares of forests, fields and parks. Most of this fairytale park is occupied by a beech forest. These stunning trees provide a wonderful setting through which you can walk and admire the many lakes and fountains that are hidden here. There are also two waterfalls, one of which has a rock wall that can be scaled (if you are careful!). Designed in the style of an English garden landscape, the forests, the manicured lawns and the beautiful building of the White House give this park an air of decline and grandeur.

Burger Zoo

For a wonderful day trip, why not combine a trip to the open-air museum with a morning at the Burger Zoo - these two attractions are located next to each other and are both a great place to visit. Burger Zoo has countless fantastic animals, reptiles and marine life to discover, and the exhibits include an ocean environment full of coral reef and desert, including snakes, African cave crickets and rams. When you see the oceans and deserts, head to the mangrove forests and see 30+ botanical plants and then look down at the roots of the trees to see an archer with a bow and king parrots. With a huge variety of animals, Burger Zoo is truly fantastic and the condition of the exhibits is unforgettable.

De Hooge Veluwe National Park

In the park, the possibilities are almost unlimited. So take a white bike or put on your walking shoes, because there is a lot to discover in the park. If you want to go on a bike tour in the park, there are almost 40 km of bike paths available. On the way you will pass all types of landscape in the park, including deciduous, coniferous and mixed forests, over wet and dry heather fields and through drifting sand landscapes. The park can be explored in different ways. Some people set out on the run and see where they get along on the way, others prefer to follow a stake trail, which is marked by colored stakes. There are also long distance routes and themed walks. You can take your dog to the park. However, your four-legged friend must always be on a leash and may not be taken into the museums, Jachthuis Sint Hubertus or the visitor center. Dogs are welcome in the park restaurant De Hoge Veluwe.

Climate

Holland has a maritime climate with low temperatures in summer and warm winters. In the summer months, the maximum average temperature reaches 20°C, and in the winter -0°C. If we talk about deep-water rivers passing through the country, then in the southern direction from them the temperature is slightly higher than in the north, and in the coastal areas there are slightly more sunny days when compared with the central regions. Due to the difference in air temperatures over the sea and land, western sea breezes often blow in the summer.
